In a world where falling stars grant supernatural powers based on constellations, Atlas Stone carries the weight of an impossible legacy. As the son of legendary hunter Commander Theron Stone, everyone expects him to follow in his father's footsteps—but Atlas appears to be "starless," unable to manifest any constellation abilities.
Determined to protect his home village of Thornwick and honor his father's memory, Atlas enters the dangerous Hunter Examination despite lacking powers. What no one knows—including Atlas himself—is that he caught a mysterious "dead star" that grants him a unique but dangerous ability: he can copy others' constellation powers by enduring direct damage from them.
Set in a Japanese-steampunk world divided into Star Territories, "Constellation Hunters" follows Atlas as he secretly develops his painful copying technique while maintaining the facade of being powerless. From hunter exams to rogue star-user battles, he must navigate academy politics, territorial conflicts, and a growing conspiracy about the true origin of the falling stars—all while keeping his dangerous secret from friends, enemies, and allies alike.
